Hallow Moon

In a peaceful valley,
a lone woman sings
as she gathers her harvest
from a garden of riches.
Sometimes she hums
while digging in cool soil,
then rises and stares
toward the east
searching for
a long lost love
making his way home.
The horizon remains empty
as the sun sinks
below dark mountains.
Another painful sigh,
another tear's journey
another long day gone
with no lover
warming her lonely night...
...Yet, hope burns bright
a beacon for her weary heart,
strength for another day,
as she kneels and prays
for her warrior
beneath a hallow moon.
